Jasmine is one of the classical florals of Indian perfumery, and Velvet Jasmina is built directly on it rather than using it as a middle note. Running underneath are fresh green notes, the kind that read as leaf and stem rather than flower.

That green edge is what keeps this from being a heavy floral. It is the cleanest fragrance in the Velvet range, closer to the citrus attars in feel than to the oud ones, despite being a floral.

Fragrance notes and oil concentration

• Jasmine as the lead note. Not layered behind anything else, which is why it reads as a jasmine fragrance rather than a fragrance containing jasmine.
• Green notes underneath. Leafy and cool, and what stops the jasmine turning heavy or sweet as it settles.
• Lasts 8 to 12 hours from a single application, though this varies with skin type and climate.
• Alcohol free base. With no alcohol diluting it, the oil stays on the skin instead of evaporating off it, which is why one drop replaces several sprays.
• One formulation for everyone. Sold as a single unisex oil.
