Velvet Oud Dusk, an oud and spice attar

Oud Dusk is the darkest fragrance in the Velvet range. Oud gives it the resinous woody base, and warm spice runs through the top, which is what gives it an edge rather than the smooth roundness of the amber oud.

It is a heavier attar than most in this range and does not lighten as the hours pass. The oil contains no alcohol and comes in a 6 ml roll-on bottle measuring 5.2 cm by 1.8 cm.

Fragrance notes and oil concentration

• Oud as the base. Resinous and deep, and the material that gives this attar its weight from first application to last.
• Warm spice on top. Dry rather than sweet, and what stops the oud reading as flat or purely woody.
• The darkest in the range. Where the amber oud is smooth and the floral oud is soft, this one stays dark throughout.
• Lasts 8 to 12 hours from a single application, though this varies with skin type and climate.
• Alcohol free base. With no alcohol diluting it, the oil stays on the skin instead of evaporating off it, which is why one application replaces several sprays.
• Roll-on bottle at 5.2 cm, small enough to carry without a separate case.
