Velvet Shanaya, a jasmine and bergamot attar

Velvet Shanaya is the most layered fragrance in the Velvet range. It opens on bergamot, moves through jasmine, and settles onto musk and sandalwood. Most attars in this range run on two notes; this one runs on four, which is why it changes more over the hours than the others do.

The oil contains no alcohol and comes in a 6 ml bottle.

Fragrance notes and oil concentration

• Bergamot at the opening. A citrus with a slightly bitter edge rather than a sweet one, which is what makes the first impression fresh instead of sugary.
• Jasmine through the middle. Jasmine is one of the classical attar florals in India and is what gives this fragrance its body once the bergamot lifts.
• Musk and sandalwood at the base. These carry it through the rest of the day and are the reason the fresh opening does not simply fade away.
• Lasts 8 to 12 hours from a single application, though this varies with skin type and climate.
• Alcohol free base. With no alcohol diluting it, the oil stays on the skin instead of evaporating off it, which is why one drop replaces several sprays.
• One formulation for everyone. Sold as a single unisex oil.
